set amongst mountains, creeks, bucolic fields, early American farmhouses and historic sites, our bright, serene barn and farmhouse suite are idyllic, central locales for your next trip to the national heritage hudson river valley.
the barn was meticulously saved and crafted by the property owners. the interior was designed to be serene and as open as possible to the fields behind the barn. reclaimed wood, fixtures, and hardware are everywhere, while old beams highlight the rooms' bones. old barn sashes dramatically divide the spaces peaking at the vaulted ceiling.
the land behind the barn is a veritable bird sanctuary in summer, and teems with life year round.
the barn can accommodate up to eight depending on sleeping arrangements and privacy preferences. please study the space and sleeping arrangements before booking. larger families or close knit friends are best able to accommodate larger groups.
the upstairs and downstairs bedroom each have queen beds. the downstairs bedroom has a private half bathroom. the living room also has a daybed and pull out couch (both queen size). the daybed is a favorite choice of many for sleeping by the fire. larger groups can also make use of the private farmhouse suite – made up of one guest bedroom (queen), living room, and full bathroom, entering through it's own private deck – if it has not been previously booked. photos of the suite give a good sense of it's location in relationship to the barn (they're close!). the farmhouse suite is attached to the rest of the family home where we live and requires more quiet, especially after 9pm.
the barn also has a playful loft has a queen size mat that is a another great place to hang out in, nap, or play with the vintage fisher price toys stored there.
the barn has a private washer & dryer also.

...the old transport roads of the hudson river valley and southern new england will take you back in time. closer to the hudson river you will find flatter roads connecting quaint river towns. everywhere else hills and steep punchy climbs predominate. there are plenty of routes that can average 100’ of climbing for every mile. iconic climbs such as bash bish, mcgee, and turkey hill (from all 4 sides) are memorable. in almost every case, the climbs will reward with gorgeous views across the taconic range towards the catskills or berkshires. if gravel is your thing, there is plenty of that too.
